Branches in the Netherlands and Belgium
The Heinz headquarters are in Pittsburgh (USA). Heinz started operating in the Netherlands in 1958. In 2001 the company bought Honig, Koninklijke de Ruijter, Venz, Brinta, Karvan Cévitam and Roosvicee, among others, thus becoming one of the largest food product companies in the Netherlands. Heinz employs nearly 1,200 people in the Netherlands, 400 of whom work at the main office in Zeist. The European main office for Supply Chain is also located in the Netherlands.
Heinz in Belgium
Heinz opened its first Belgian branch in Watermaal-Bosvoorde in 1947. In 2001, Heinz acquired the food products division of the Dutch company CSM (Central Sugar Company). As a result, H.J. Heinz Belgium has an extensive brand portfolio in the retail channel, including the Kwatta brand. Another result of the acquisition was that Heinz Belgium became a strong player on the food service market for individual servings and large bulk packaging.
