Starting at Heinz
Our ambition is to be the "Best Place to Work". A work environment where employees trust the colleagues they work with, are proud of what they do and enjoy working with their teammates.
We believe that the ambitious and professional attitude of all our employees is a key factor of our success. The company culture of Heinz is an informal culture focused on broad cooperation within and between all aspects of the business. We have room for people who dare to look for solutions outside of the box, who show initiative and who know how to handle broad powers within a framework of responsibility.
We aim for a perfect balance between demand and supply. For this reason we offer our employees a wide range of positions within different work areas, so there is bound to be something for everyone.
Marketing at Heinz
Heinz employs a wide variety of marketing approaches. Heinz has strong local brands (such as Honig and Venz) and global brands (such as Heinz) in many different categories. Working on terrific brands and innovations in a competitive environment provides our marketers with many challenges.
At Heinz you can become a Brand Manager at different levels, based on your experience. Once you are working as one of the Heinz Brand Managers, you are responsible for the brand from A to Z, from developing the marketing mix to implementing the activities.
Finance at Heinz
The Financial Controlling department is the sparring partner of management and has a support function during decision-making processes. At Heinz, the Financial Controllers work for different departments, contributing to various projects in this capacity. Financial Controllers have a thorough knowledge of the growth and profit strategies within Heinz. The Financial Services department is responsible for the money flow (AP and AR) and internal and external reporting within Heinz.
Sales at Heinz
The Sales department will call on your insight into our consumers and customers. Many of our customers have their own strategy and market approach, which you will have to take into account as a Heinz (Key) Account Manager.
You will develop strong relationships with your customers, and your task is to increase revenue, profits and market share. When new products are launched, you will work closely together with the Marketing and Trade-Marketing departments in order to get our products on the shelves of our customers. In addition, you will work with the customers to implement promotional products, and you will negotiate prices and margins.
Trade Marketing at Heinz
Processing of orders and creating and maintaining the data base are the main responsibilities of Customer Service, which, together with Trade Marketing, forms the Business Operations department.
The Trade Category Manager focuses on maximum growth of a product group or "category", with an emphasis on the market share of the Heinz brands. The Trade Manager uses his knowledge of shoppers to come up with the best possible advice for our different customers in regard to the four P's (promotion, product, place, price). Finally, the Space Manager designs the best shelf plan for our products. Together we create the categories of tomorrow.
Food Service at Heinz
The Food Service business unit is responsible for all sales outside of the retail channel, such as the hospitality industry, institutions and catering, as well as export and industrial customers. It's essentially an entrepreneurial world centred on the "food experience".
Within the Food Service team there are challenging functions in Brand Management and Account Management. As a Brand Manager you are responsible for the brand from A to Z, and you will deal primarily with professional customers, such as cooks. As an Account Manager you will build strong relationships with wholesale suppliers or large end users, such as hotel and restaurant chains or large hospital complexes.
R&D at Heinz
Our European Research & Development function is at the vibrant heart of our organisation. Innovation is a vital element of the success of our business. Within Research & Development we play a pivotal role in the entire process of developing products and building leading brands. We integrate knowledge and experience from many disciplines. As a result our team members are constantly challenged and inspired to increase our creativity and explore new paths.
HR at Heinz
HR enables people to do their best work. HR is responsible for filling the organisation with highly-qualified, enterprising people. The HR generalists work on the development, implementation and realisation of HR policies. They provide the right structure, culture, people and capacities for constructive working relationships.
The HR specialists work on policies, processes, systems and tools that enable each business department to attract, hire, develop and reward talented people. They are in constant contact with external experts and continually keep an eye on market developments and "best practices".
Supply Chain at Heinz
If you work for the Heinz Supply Chain you will deal with every phase of the Heinz products, from buying the raw materials to delivery of the end product.
During the preparation phase of the product, an important task of the Supply Chain is to gain insight into the needs of customers and work with them to solve logistical problems, such as availability of products on the store shelves.
During the production phase, Supply Chain helps factories improve their efficiency and ways to meet the changing needs of customers and consumers. The Heinz factories use the "World Class Manufacturing" improvement process. As a manager you might be responsible, for example, for the quality, output and costs of a team.
